Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologist (DACT)
Specialist in Equine Reproduction
I am a graduate of Colorado State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, where I received a B. S. in Veterinary Science and then the D.V.M. degree in 1978 (CSU).
I completed an Internship in Equine Medicine and Reproduction at the University of California at Davis, CA (UC-Davis, 1978-1979) and Residency Program Training in Large Animal Theriogenology (with emphasis in equine) at Texas A&M University, College Station, TX (TAMU, 1979-1981). During my residency, I received a Master of Science degree with my research and thesis on equine endometrial cytology.
Following this, I spent two years in private equine practice in Iowa (Tri-State Veterinary Clinic, 1981-1983), and two breeding seasons as a Resident Veterinarian at Graham Farm's Southwest Stallion Station (1983-1984), standing Rocket Wrangler, Scott's Poppy, and Mr. Dark Jet.
I joined the faculty at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, Blacksburg, Virginia in 1984, where I was engaged in clinical teaching, equine research, and service programs of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Equine Production Management Medicine (Equine Ambulatory and Reproduction).
In August of 1999, I moved to Stillwater, OK and joined the faculty at Oklahoma State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, where I was Head of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences and Professor of Equine Reproduction.
In the summer of 2002, I returned to private practice to become the veterinarian in charge of Regional Equine Associates Central Hospital (REACH) in northern Virginia, an intermediate care referral clinic near Millwood, VA, and to establish a referral reproductive specialty practice in the same facility.
This season of 2005, I am opening my own private practice to serve the Clarke, Loudoun and Fauquier counties of northern Virginia. I will also be accepting cases requiring routine and advanced reproductive technology state and nation wide.
